Jerry Roell is a Precision Agriculture Consultant, advising industry participants on strategy and execution for the digital evolution of the transformation to improve productivity and cost management in production agriculture.
Heworked for John Deere nearly 38 years from 1980 until retiring in 2018. Thelast 10 years he was a leader at John Deere’s Precision AG Group (ISG or Intelligent Solutions Group) His role was at a Director level, leading the strategy, business development, marketing and sales of technology. Under his leadership, he guided Deere’s approach to digital agriculture, focused both in the North & South American markets. Earlier roles included various engineering assignments with product development and manufacturing, as well as channel development roles; including sales, customer support and business operations. Hisequipment expertise was focused on Seeding and Tillage, as well as Hay & Forage.
Roell is a graduate of The Ohio State University, and holds a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering. He currently serves on the IPAG (Industry Professional Advisory Group) for the FABE (Food Agriculture & Biological Engineering) at Ohio State. He enjoys golf, travel, sporting events and gardening when not working as a Consultant.
