Christian Guffy

Christian joined the The Context Network Network with experience in consulting, strategy development, and financial analysis in a variety of industries including agribusiness, investment finance, and retail.

He has helped clients develop long term strategic plans as well as annual go to market strategies rooted in fundamental market analysis and research. He has also advised companies on corporate financial planning including capital expenditures, business unit divestitures, and strategic acquisitions.

His time with Adayana AgriBusiness Group allowed him the opportunity to work closely with clients in the agriculture industry including manufacturers in crop protection, animal health, and agricultural equipment. As a result of these client engagements and his prior experiences, Christian is well suited to engage clients in pursuit of their overarching business objectives.

Garth Boyd

Garth Boyd’s depth and breadth of life-long experience in production agriculture, academia, extension and agribusiness combine with his passion for teamwork and delivering results to help clients in the following areas: Value creation in responsible food chains, Sustainability, environmental assets and bioenergy issues spanning local to international project scopes, Environmental technology research, development, implementation and continuous improvement, Nutrient management and Environmental assurance, and Team leadership.

Matt Sutton-Vermeulen

Matt Sutton-Vermeulen has a breadth of experience spanning 30 years includes working with domestic and international clients in all aspects of responsible food chains, including crops, animal health, genetics, nutrition, production, processing, retail, associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). He provides clients with the following areas of expertise: Strategic planning, Facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement, Continuous improvement in responsible food chains, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability reporting, and Product development and market launches.

Doug Griffin

Doug has been a Partner at The Context Network for six years and has over 35 years of experience in the ag & industrial equipment industry. His past executive and senior-level roles provide him with many skills to solve the most challenging and complex issues facing companies today. His background includes COO, Vice President, General Management, and Director positions at two leading global equipment companies.

At Context, Doug leads the Machinery and Equipment sector, emphasizing technology. He assists companies from small start-ups to large global OEMs. He primarily emphasizes strategy development and implementation. In addition, his teams conduct competitive assessments, peer-to-peer benchmarking, new market opportunity analysis, investment fundraising initiatives, and acquisition due diligence. He is experienced with driving culture change and the execution of strategic plans. In addition, he is trained to use Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria for business performance improvement.

Paul Watson

Paul Watson has a diverse background in investment analysis, strategy development and project management. He brings a broad range of experience from the financial and life sciences industries to management consulting projects.

Paul’s areas of focus include strategy development and financial forecasting; investment opportunity evaluation; mergers and acquisitions valuation and analysis; project management; and competitive intelligence and market analysis.

Tray Thomas

Tray founded The Context Network® in 1992. He has spent his career helping life science companies project and capitalize on the changes created by both technical and economic developments to improve their profitability and establish competitive advantage. A Brigham Young University – Idaho and University of Idaho graduate with a Master of Science in Economics from Purdue, Tray is an expert in the development of growth strategies, opportunity analysis and in creating alliances between industries to maximize value creation and capture.

James Mann

James E. Mann, Ph.D., has more than twenty years of leadership and business experience in agricultural life science businesses. His business background includes global business planning, finance, licensing, business development, and acquisitions in both small and large company settings. James also brings strong diversity as someone who has led numerous product development activities and teams across multiple crops, chemistries, and technologies.
